Open Streets Mattapan is a community event where streets are temporarily closed to traffic, transforming them into vibrant, pedestrian-focused spaces for recreation and community engagement. It’s part of the larger Open Streets Boston program. This year, Mattapan’s Open Streets event will be held on October 18th on Blue Hill Avenue from River Street to Babson Street.

Our streets are core, critical infrastructure for our city—and we’ve reimagined them not just as ways to get around, but as spaces where all of us can connect with our communities.

Open Streets Boston events are always free and open to all, so grab your friends and family and head on down to Blue Hill Ave. from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
