Rolling Ray, the viral sensation and reality TV personality known for his larger-than-life personality and signature catchphrase “purr,” has died at the age of 28. His passing was confirmed by family and friends just one day before what would have been his 29th birthday on September 5, 2025.
Ray’s mother, Sazola Nay, broke the news in an emotional Facebook post, writing:
“It is with a heavy heavy heart that I let you all know that my son Ray Ray iamrollingray has gone home to be with the Lord…”
The Zeus Network, where Ray became a fan favorite on shows like Bobby I Love You, Purrr and The Conversation, also paid tribute:
“Gone way too soon. Your Laughter, Light & Loving Spirit will Live on FOREVER!”

Born Raymond Harper in Missouri on September 5, 1996, Rolling Ray first hit the spotlight with appearances on MTV’s Catfish: Trolls and Divorce Court. But it was his unforgettable presence on Zeus programming—and his viral “purr” catchphrase—that cemented him as a true internet icon.
Despite living with paralysis after a childhood accident, Ray embraced his journey and proudly called himself “the most famous boy inna wheelchair.” Beyond entertainment, he used his platform to advocate for the Black, disabled, and LGBTQ+ communities, inspiring hundreds of thousands of fans.
Ray built a loyal following with more than 440,000 Instagram followers and a growing presence on TikTok, where his bold humor and authenticity shined through. Even while facing serious health challenges in recent years, he never lost the ability to laugh, uplift, and connect with people worldwide.
A cause of death has not yet been revealed.
