Kanye West just proved he can still move crowdsâand cash.
His new documentary, In Whose Name?, earned $776,000 in its U.S. debut weekend, despite little promotion and a modest release across 1,000 theaters.
The film covers six years of Yeâs life, spotlighting some of his most controversial momentsâfrom the backlash over his âWhite Lives Matterâ shirt to the fallout from his antisemitic tweets. Clips from the doc, including one where he reportedly goes off on Kris Jenner, are already going viral online.
With such a strong start, producers plan to expand the theatrical run before eventually bringing it to streaming platforms in the coming months.
Looks like Yeâs drama still has people buying tickets.
