Sean Kingston and Mother Ordered to Pay Nearly $40K to Fraud Victim

Written by on 09/29/2025

Sean Kingston is facing major legal consequences after being convicted of fraud tied to a $1 million scheme carried out with his mother, Janice Turner.

According to court documents, Kingston has been sentenced to 42 months in prison, while Turner received a five-year sentence. Both were ordered to compensate one of their victims, identified as “B.C.,” with $38,500.

Judge David S. Leibowitz ordered Kingston to pay a $500 lump sum upfront, followed by 10% of his monthly income after his release until the balance is repaid.

Prosecutors say Kingston and Turner used his celebrity status to secure luxury items, including a massive 232-inch television, nearly $1 million in watches, a $150,000 sound system, and an $80,000 custom bed. Attorney Dennis Card, who represented one of the victims, described the scheme as “organized, systematic fraud,” adding,

“He likes having bling, he likes showing off, he’s a showman.”

The conviction marks a dramatic fall for the “Beautiful Girls” singer, whose lavish lifestyle and public persona were central to the scheme. Kingston has reportedly asked his attorney not to discuss the case publicly, citing concerns about misinformation further damaging his reputation.

With nearly four years behind bars ahead of him, Kingston’s future in music remains uncertain.
