The rap world lit up this week as Nicki Minaj and Cardi B reignited their long-standing rivalry in a fiery social media clash that spiraled from album sales to family insults.
It all started when Nicki reportedly took shots at Cardi’s new album Am I the Drama?—released September 19—mocking its sales numbers and even Cardi’s appearance in a string of since-deleted posts.
“Fallin off the charts wit a big bellyyyy / RUNNING TRAINS,” she allegedly wrote, adding more bars that ridiculed Cardi’s look and her new track “Magnet.”
But things quickly escalated beyond music. The two femcees traded barbs about each other’s children—Nicki reportedly calling Cardi’s oldest
“an ugly monkey and roach,” while Cardi fired back that Nicki’s son was “slow” and “nonverbal” because of her alleged drug use. Cardi also claimed Nicki only picked a fight because she’s pregnant, writing: “I seen you at two Met Galas and you never have that energy… BUT WHERE TF YOU AT???”
By Thursday night (Oct. 2), Nicki appeared to walk back her comments, posting a surprising apology addressed directly to Cardi’s daughter, Kulture.
“Dear Kulture, truth is: I did all of this for a bigger purpose and one day you’ll understand… you’re a cute child & lots of kids have cute little funny looking gums before they grow into all of their features,” Nicki wrote. She added, “I apologize…you’re an innocent child and don’t deserve any of this.”

One day you’ll see this, so I have to say: I apologize. As a child… https://t.co/RjOcWmJDJj

Cardi B didn’t take long to respond to Minaj‘s apology. Posting on her post on X, the mother of four clearly wasn’t a fan of the way Minaj spoke about Kulture.
“Don’t give my child no backhanded apology keep my child name out your mouth cause imma always take you where you don’t wanna go about mine,” she snapped back. “Honest truth this goin back and forth about kids is really draining my energy.. I don’t wanna keep mentioning kids it feels very nasty and dark but the energy you keep giving my kids imma resend back to messenger.”

Still, the apology came with a pointed message: Nicki suggested that Cardi and others “will be brought to their knees” for what they’ve said about her own son, calling him her “young prophet/beautiful boy.”
The feud leaves fans divided, with some questioning whether Nicki’s apology signals a truce—or just another round in hip-hop’s most heated rivalry.
