The film captures Blige’s electrifying performance during her most recent tour and gives fans around the world a front-row seat to one of her most powerful shows yet.
“Being able to share this moment globally with my fans, who can experience this together in a movie theater, is more special than I can put into words,” Blige told the Associated Press. “This tour was always for my fans, and being able to make this into a movie for them means the world.”
The concert film will feature iconic hits like “Be Without You,” “Family Affair,” and “No More Drama,” along with new music from her 15th studio album Gratitude (2024). Viewers will also get behind-the-scenes footage and surprise guest appearances from some of Blige’s famous friends.
Kymberli Frueh, EVP of Programming and Content Acquisitions at Trafalgar Releasing, praised the star’s unmatched influence:
“Mary J. Blige has always represented the heart and soul of New York. And her Madison Square Garden performance reflects that. We’re proud to share this historic hometown concert with audiences around the world through the magic of cinema.”
Since debuting with What’s the 411? in 1992, Mary J. Blige has built a legendary career with nine Grammy Awards, multiple multi-platinum albums, and more than 50 million records sold worldwide.
