The Caribbean’s biggest names are joining forces to support Jamaica in the wake of Hurricane Melissa. On Wednesday (Nov. 12), Shaggy officially announced the Jamaica Strong Benefit Concert, a star-powered fundraiser featuring performances from Sean Paul, KES, T.O.K., Inner Circle, and more.
Set for December 12 at the UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York, the rare all-star event is produced by the I Love Jamaica Concert Series in partnership with the Government of Jamaica. Its mission: to raise critical funds for the island’s official Hurricane Relief & Recovery Fund, supporting families and communities hit hardest by the storm.

Proceeds will benefit Shaggy’s Make A Difference Foundation, Food For The Poor Jamaica, The Irie Jam Radio Foundation, and the Consulate General of Jamaica in New York.
The announcement follows weeks of public support from artists like Sean Paul, Shenseea, and Nicki Minaj, all amplifying relief efforts after Hurricane Melissa ripped through the island. Sean Paul previously shared that he was barricaded inside his home during the storm, later posting footage of the aftermath. He also revealed that the Sean Paul Foundation would partner with Food For The Poor Jamaica to deliver urgent aid.
“My island of Jamaica is going through a really tough time,” Sean Paul wrote. “Hurricane Melissa has caused serious damage… families displaced, homes destroyed, and communities in need of help.”
He urged fans worldwide to donate and pledged to match every dollar raised up to $50,000 to double the impact.
The Jamaica Strong Benefit Concert is set to be one of the year’s most powerful cultural moments — a reminder of music’s ability to mobilize, unite, and heal.
