Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry Exits Miss Universe Competition on Stretcher After Falling Off Stage

Written by on 11/21/2025

Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry was noticeably absent from the Miss Universe competition on Thursday, Nov. 20 — just 24 hours after she was rushed to the hospital following a dramatic fall during the preliminary evening gown round.

A spokesperson for the pageant declined to comment on Henry’s status, leaving fans and viewers searching for answers.

A Scary Fall Caught on Camera

Henry, 28, was competing in Wednesday’s preliminaries when she slipped off the edge of the stage while walking in an orange gown and heels. Social media videos show the moment she missed a step and fell into the pit below.

Hours later, additional footage surfaced showing Henry being taken out of the venue on a stretcher.

Miss Universe Owner: “No Broken Bones”

Miss Universe owner Raul Rocha posted an update from Bangkok shortly after midnight, reassuring supporters that the Jamaican beauty queen was stable.

“I have just left the hospital where she is being treated… thankfully, there are no broken bones, and she is under good care,” Rocha wrote.

Miss Universe Jamaica Confirms Hospitalization

The Miss Universe Jamaica organization released its own statement, confirming Henry was transported to Paolo Rangsit Hospital, where doctors reported no life-threatening injuries but continued testing to ensure a full recovery.

“Dr. Gabrielle Henry… experienced a fall from the main stage during the evening gown round,” the statement read, adding that she remains under medical supervision.

Henry’s accident comes at a turbulent moment for the Miss Universe brand.

This week alone:

  • Judge Omar Harfouch resigned, claiming an “impromptu jury” had pre-selected the top 30 semifinalists before the preliminary round.

  • Judges Claude Makélélé and Princess Camilla di Borbone delle Due Sicilie also withdrew, intensifying scrutiny around transparency and fairness.

With controversy swirling and one of the competition’s standout contestants sidelined by injury, the 2025 Miss Universe pageant is facing one of its most chaotic chapters yet.
