Exclusive: K-Town Signs With Empire and Roc Nation — Ushering In A New Era of power of moves and Independence

Billboard Hip Hop Exclusive Feature

The industry has officially been put on notice: K-Town is entering a new era — and he’s doing it under two of the most influential banners in modern music. With his recent dual signing to Empire and Roc Nation, the rising star is proving that independent artists can build their own momentum, then partner with the giants on their own terms.

Within just a few years, K-Town has evolved from underground phenom to a name circulating through label meetings, A&R circles, and executive boardrooms. His unmatched authenticity, high-voltage storytelling, and poetic street lyricism have carved out a lane that feels both raw and refined — a sound that resonates with fans who crave truth over trends.

Now, backed by two powerhouse companies, K-Town isn’t just rising. He’s gearing up for domination.

Billboard Hip Hop: First off, congratulations on the dual signing. Empire and Roc Nation together is a massive win. How did this all come together?

K-Town: Thank you, I appreciate that. This wasn’t overnight — it’s been years of grinding independently, staying locked in, and not bending my sound to fit what’s “in.” Empire recognized the momentum I was building, and not long after, Roc Nation stepped in. Everything aligned perfectly. To me, this wasn’t just signing papers — it was aligning with people who see the vision clearly.

Billboard Hip Hop: Roc Nation is global — a legacy tied to JAY-Z, Super Bowl moments, and generational artists. How does it feel to join that roster?

K-Town: It’s surreal, honestly. Roc Nation has always represented leadership and excellence. Being part of that lineage means everything to me. I grew up studying artists who broke rules, who redefined the game. That’s the energy I’m bringing. It’s pressure, but it’s the type of pressure that creates diamonds.

buzzing right now. What inspired that record?

K-Town: “Dead Roses” is about evolution — emotional and personal. It’s about loss, growth, and stepping into new territory even when everything around you feels like it’s falling apart. When love dies but ambition survives, that’s the space I was in. It’s one of my most honest records, straight from the heart.

Billboard Hip Hop: People describe your music as a mix of raw street energy and lyrical depth. How do you merge both worlds?

K-Town: By living through both. I’ve seen the struggle up close, and I’ve seen what happens when things start elevating. I’m not ashamed of either side. My music is about duality — the pain and the poetry, the hustle and the hope. I don’t try to balance it; I just tell the truth.

Billboard Hip Hop: You teased major collaborations coming. Anything you can reveal? Even a hint?

K-Town: (Laughs) I can’t drop names yet, but trust me — these next moves are heavy. I’m working with people who’ve inspired me for years. Every collab that’s coming is intentional, and every track is designed to show the direction I’m moving toward. 2025 is going to be a statement year.

Billboard Hip Hop: Now that you’ve entered a new chapter with major backing, what does this era represent for you?

K-Town: Evolution. Legacy. Making timeless music. I never cared about clout or quick numbers — I care about impact. Signing with Empire and Roc Nation shows what independent artists can build when they stay locked in. This is the chapter where I turn everything I’ve lived into something permanent.

Billboard Hip Hop: What do you want to say to your supporters as this new era begins?

K-Town: Stay with me. We’re building something real — bigger than singles, bigger than hype. For everyone who’s been rocking with me since the start, thank you. And for those just finding me now, welcome to the movement. We’re only getting started.

A New Chapter for 2025

K-Town’s latest release, “Dead Roses”, is officially out now through Roc Nation Distribution,

cementing his place under a global umbrella that has helped shape some of the most iconic

careers in hip-hop. With Empire behind his independent roots and Roc Nation amplifying his

reach, K-Town is positioned to take over charts, stages, and conversations throughout 2025.

This moment isn’t a fluke.

It’s the beginning of a legacy.
