Jill Scott is officially back. The Grammy-winning powerhouse has announced her first album in 10 years, titled To Whom This May Concern, and blessed fans with its lead single, “Beautiful People.”
Scott shared the news with fans on Instagram Friday (Jan. 2), thanking listeners for their patience and urging them to presave the project.
The album is described as a heartfelt offering rooted in connection, humanity, and community — the foundation of what has always made Jill Scott’s artistry timeless. According to her team, the project reflects her signature grit, grace, and emotional honesty, leaning into themes of love, truth, and togetherness.
To Whom This May Concern boasts an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Adam Blackstone, Om’Mas Keith, DJ Premier, Camper, and Andre Harris, along with Siege Monstracity, Trombone Shorty, Eric Wortham, DW Wright, and VT Tolan. The album also features appearances from Ab-Soul, J.I.D., Tierra Whack, and Too $hort, highlighting a bold blend of soulful artistry and modern creativity.
Speaking about the project on Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Scott explained that this album carries life lessons, growth, and revelation — and sonically spans a wide emotional spectrum.
“There’s a lot of living in this album, and a lot of revelation,” Scott said. “The musicianship on this project… I couldn’t be happier. I feel touched all over.”
To Whom This May Concern marks Scott’s first album since 2015’s Woman, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The release also follows her celebration of the 25th anniversary of her debut classic, Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds Vol. 1.
After a decade away from dropping a full body of work, Jill Scott’s return feels not just anticipated — but necessary.
