Megan Thee Stallion went silent on social media this week, and the timing couldn’t be more loaded.
Both her Instagram and X profiles now display nothing but black screens where her photos used to be, a visual statement that speaks volumes after her very public split from NBA star Klay Thompson over alleged infidelity.
The rapper didn’t need words to send a message. Sometimes the loudest move is the quietest one.
The blackout came just days after Megan dropped the truth about why she and Thompson called it quits.
She claimed she’s been holding it together through his mood swings and the stress of his basketball season, but when she found out he was stepping outside the relationship, something broke.
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet,’” she wrote on her Instagram Story, laying out exactly what went wrong. She followed up with a statement making it crystal clear: “Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward.”
The breakup hit different because Megan was in the middle of her Broadway run in Moulin Rouge.
She’d made history stepping into the role of Harold Zidler, becoming the first female-identifying performer to play that part on Broadway. But the relationship drama forced her hand.
Originally scheduled to perform through May 17, she announced her final show would be May 1 instead. During that last performance, the emotion was real.
She broke down in tears on stage, and her fans responded with a standing ovation that showed they had her back completely.
In her Instagram post about leaving the production early, Megan thanked the cast and crew for making the experience meaningful.
“Y’all work so hard and I have so much respect for the dedication, the stamina, the work ethic, the time and the effort y’all put into the work,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, Klay Thompson continues to be dragged on social media for his role in the breakup.
When confronted about the allegations, he responded with “Please go touch grass,” a dismissive comment that only made things worse. Fans aren’t letting it slide.
As for Megan, she seems to be focusing on herself, and that black screen on her social media is a symbol of the reset she’s taking.
