Diddy’s lawyers are stepping away from his $100M defamation fight over unpaid fees while he’s actually winning in court.
Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing a legal meltdown right in the middle of one of his biggest courtroom wins.
His attorneys at Sher Tremonte just filed to bail out of his $100 million defamation case, claiming he’s been ghosting them for months and refusing to pay his bills.
The firm says Diddy owes a substantial balance in legal fees that’s been piling up for over six months, and they’re done waiting around.
Diddy is telling a completely different story. He says he switched lawyers because they were overcharging him with bills he never approved.

“I won’t let anyone take advantage of me by running up charges that weren’t authorized,” he told Page Six.
Meanwhile, lawyer Michael Tremonte fired back, saying Diddy became uncooperative and stopped communicating for four months straight, making the whole representation impossible to continue.
This is all happening in his defamation lawsuit against Courtney Burgess, attorney Ariel Mitchell, and Nexstar Media, which operates NewsNation.
Burgess claimed he had 11 flash drives containing alleged sex tapes, and Mitchell appeared on air vouching for his story. Diddy says it’s all lies designed to destroy his reputation, and according to Page Six, he amended the lawsuit to seek $100 million in damages.
The timing is wild because Combs just scored a major victory in this same case. Just days before his lawyers quit, a federal judge ruled that he can move forward with his defamation claims against Mitchell.
Judge John Cronan rejected her motion to dismiss, meaning Diddy gets to continue pursuing his $100 million lawsuit over the lawyer’s claims that he laced baby oil to drug unsuspecting victims.
Burgess never even responded to the lawsuit after missing his deadline, so the court entered a default judgment against him.
So Diddy is winning in court but losing his legal representation over money disputes.
Diddy is currently serving time in federal prison in Fort Dix, New Jersey, after being convicted on prostitution charges, with a release date set for February 5, 2028.
