Lil Wayne just watched his son step onto one of Georgia’s biggest high school football stages, and the kid came ready.
Dwayne Carter III made his debut for Gainesville High School’s kicking unit this past weekend, connecting on both field goal attempts from 35 and 26 yards out in a loss to powerhouse Buford.
The 17-year-old transferred to Gainesville from North Atlanta High School and posted on X before the season started, “New school, last year. Let’s make it count.” He’s already making good on that promise.
Dwayne Carter III also received his first Division 1 scholarship offer from Colorado back in June, with Deion Sanders personally extending the invitation.

That’s the kind of validation that shows this kid has real talent, not just famous parents backing him up.
His mother, Sarah Vivan, has supported him throughout his athletic journey, and she was right there on the sidelines during his debut.
What makes this story even more interesting is that Lil Wayne’s connection to sports runs way deeper than just having a kid on the field.
The rap legend has become a legitimate force in the sports world over the past few years. He’s appeared on ESPN First Take multiple times and has built serious credibility talking about the game.
In July, he launched The Joint Venture Show with WFAN radio veteran Craig Carton, a weekly podcast that combines Lil Wayne’s sports knowledge with Carton’s decades of radio experience.
The show dropped on July 22 and has been getting real traction in the sports media space.
But here’s where it gets really interesting. Lil Wayne didn’t just become a sports fan and podcaster.
He owns his own sports agency, Young Money APAA Sports, which he founded with the von Gontard family.
The agency has been signing major talent left and right. Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter just signed with Young Money APAA Sports for his NFL representation, joining a roster that includes Mecole Hardman Jr., D’Andre Walker, Gary Johnson, Jakobi Meyers, Dennis Daley, Emeke Egbule, and Jamal Davis II.
The agency now has over 65 athletes under contract and continues to grow.
