PlayStation State of Play: New ‘Wolverine’ Trailer, ‘Maneater 2,’ ‘Metro 2039,’ ‘Final Fantasy VII Revelations’ Launch Date & More

You might have slept through it, but PlayStation held two State of Play presentations this morning and had plenty to show off.

The September 2026 State of Play was an interesting one, kicking things off with an extended look at Zac Cregger’s very ambitious looking Resident Evil movie that we might add looks damn good.

There were also two Grand Theft Auto VI inspired DualSense controllers which further cements that the PS5 and PS5 Pro is being pushed as the best place to play Rockstar Games upcoming video game.

We also got a look at a new LEGO PlayStation set that honestly all gamers need to for the gaming setups.

With those out of the way, it’s time to focus on what folks really watch these presentations for, the games.

Now this by no means was PlayStation’s greatest State of Play ever, but if you’re gonna say that there were no fun games shown, like Maneater 2, Marvel’s Wolverine, Final Fantasy VII: Revelations and much more.

So lets get into these annoucements.

Marvel’s Wolverine

Can you believe we are just days away from the release of Marvel’s Wolverine? Ahead of the highly anticipated video game’s September 15 release, Insomniac Games dropped one last trailer giving us more to chew on from the game that puts players in control of the one of the most popular X-Men members.

In the final trailer we see Logan take on a big and small Sentinels, as well as more cameos from other mutants like Sabertooth, Mystique, Jean Grey, Omega Red and Lady Deathstrike.

We honestly didn’t need to see anymore from this game because we are already sold, but we’re not mad at another look at the game.

Ghost of Yotei Most Wanted & Complete Edition Announcement

If you needed a reason to re-install Ghost of Yotei on your PS5 you got plenty of them today. One of them was the annoucement of the Ghost of Yotei Most Wanted, the upcoming single-player combat-survival roguelike mode that will be featured in the upcoming Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition that launches on October 1.

The footage shows characters from Yōtei getting busy, and delivering all kinds of fades. The trailer ends with the reveal of Jin Sakai the protagonists from Ghosts of Tsushima annoucing that he is a playable character.

When the Complete Edition of the game launches it will also feature a new story expansion, Echoes of Sekigahara.

Maneater 2 Announcement Trailer

Tripwire Interactive’s Maneater was a surprise hit among gamers selling over 14 million copies across all platforms so it made us very happy to see we are getting a sequel.
