Hasbro Moves HQ From Rhode Island to Boston’s Seaport District

Written by on 09/08/2025

BOSTON – Get ready to roll the dice, Boston. Hasbro, the company behind classics like Monopoly, Play-Doh, and Transformers, is officially packing up its Rhode Island base and moving its headquarters to Boston’s Seaport District.

The toy giant announced Monday that its new home will be at 400 Summer Street, taking over seven floors and 265,000 square feet of space. At least 700 employees are expected to relocate from Pawtucket, RI to Boston by the end of 2026.

“This new location will be the primary headquarters for Hasbro’s toys, board games, and licensing businesses, and a majority of its corporate services,” the company said in a statement.

While Rhode Island loses the company’s longtime HQ, Hasbro says it will continue to give back—pledging ongoing donations to Hasbro Children’s Hospital and recruiting talent from RI colleges and universities.

The move makes Hasbro the second major toy company to land in Boston in recent years, following LEGO’s decision to set up shop on Boylston Street.

Hasbro also has a major hub in Seattle, where franchises like Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons are developed, along with its growing digital gaming arm.

The company says Boston and Seattle give them access to the kind of tech and creative talent needed to merge physical toys with digital play.

And let’s be real—between LEGO and Hasbro, Boston is officially becoming the toy capital of America.
